Summer is upon us, and between the sweltering heat and the humidity, let’s face it, staying cool is of the utmost importance. Sue says, “He wanted to hold a golf tournament to raise money for people who are recovering from the effects of chemo and radiation to help them get their lives back. At first, we thought it would just be our family, but the word got out and that first year we raised $10,000!”

Since then, the annual JK Cancer Fund Golf Tournament, which is held each April at the Seven Springs Golf and Country Club, has raised an additional $51,000 to help local residents who are recovering from Cancer. Sue also has donated funds and Cody has volunteered for the LIVESTRONG program at the James P. Gills YMCA.

Sue said, “It was important to me to be able to help the people in our community.”
